After last year’s smash hit sellout, Bolton Street Synagogue and The Stoop Storytelling Series have again teamed up to present “It’s Still Complicated: Stories about the Joys and Oys of Contemporary Jewish Life.”  The event, to be held on Saturday evening May 2 beginning at 6 p.m., will feature seven speakers telling memorable stories that capture the essence, irony, and unique humor of Jewish culture and identity.

Tickets can be purchased in advance for $65 by visiting StoopBolton2015 Event page

Proceeds from the event will benefit Bolton Street Synagogue’s educational and social action programs. The event will also feature a silent auction, Ravens’ ticket raffle, food, drink, and live music from the Lots More Swing trio.

Each storyteller will share a seven-minute story, on topics ranging from an infamous bachelor party with a Jewish rock-and-roll legend to a family reunion 70 years after the Holocaust divided a family.

Confirmed speakers include Jewish Museum Director Marvin Pinkert; City Paper editor Evan Serpick; comedienne Meshelle; Baltimore Style columnist Jennifer Mendelsohn; environmental writer Rona Kobell; BSS President Marc Hartstein; Johns Hopkins executive Nancy Riess.

Bolton Street Synagogue is located at 212 W. Cold Spring Lane in Baltimore. “It’s Still Complicated” will begin with cocktails, lite fare and silent auction bidding at 7 p.m; storytellers begin at 8:30 p.m. and dessert at 9:30 p.m.
